On the occasion of the ninth National Science and Technology Workers’ Day, on the morning of May 28, the main event of the National Science and Technology Workers’ Day in Shandong Province in 2025, co-organized by the Shandong Association for Science and Technology, the Propaganda Department of the Shandong Provincial Party Committee, the Shandong Provincial Department of Science and Technology, and Shandong Heavy Industry Group, was held at China National Heavy Duty Truck Group. Li Guoqiang, Deputy Secretary-General of the Provincial Party Committee, Man Shengang, Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of Shandong Heavy Industry Group, Zou Guangde, Secretary of the Party Leadership Group and Vice Chairman of the Provincial Association for Science and Technology, Tian Feng, Deputy Director of the General Office of the Provincial Party Committee, Wang Yinglong, Member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial People’s Congress and Vice Chairman of the Education, Science, Culture and Health Committee, Sun Wenli, Deputy Minister of the Propaganda Department of the Provincial Party Committee, Liu Feng, Member of the Party Leadership Group of the Provincial Department of Science and Technology and Secretary of the Party Leadership Group of the Provincial Innovation and Development Research Institute, Lian Kai, Deputy Secretary of the Party Leadership Group and Vice Chairman of the Provincial Association for Science and Technology, and Liu Zhengtao, Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of China National Heavy Duty Truck Group, attended the event. Cao Jiqiang, Member of the Standing Committee and Secretary-General of the Haibei Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture Committee of Qinghai Province, was invited to attend.
At the event, the key activities of Shandong Province’s National Science and Technology Workers’ Day in 2025 were released, awards were given to outstanding works on the theme of scientists’ spirit, and letters of appointment were issued to representatives of the selected members of the Shandong Province’s 2025 Scientists’ Spirit Report Group. The Party School of Shandong Association for Science and Technology and the Qinghai Atomic City Memorial Hall signed an agreement to jointly build the “Red Leadership” learning and education base of the Party School of Shandong Association for Science and Technology. Representatives of scientific and technological workers of China National Heavy Duty Truck Group read out the initiative to serve scientific and technological innovation, calling on the majority of scientific and technological workers to bravely become the vanguard of scientific and technological self-reliance and self-improvement, and make contributions to the construction of a strong province in science and technology.
At the main event, the “Two Bombs and One Satellite” Spirit Propaganda Group of China Atomic City made a theme speech. The lecture was themed on inheriting the red gene of the Atomic City and promoting the spirit of “Two Bombs and One Satellite”. It told the epic stories that occurred during the development of the “Two Bombs and One Satellite” from different aspects and angles, and deepened the great strategic significance of inheriting and innovating the spirit of “Two Bombs and One Satellite” in the new era.
The event site set up the “Two Bombs and One Satellite” spirit to shine forever-China Atomic City Historical Photo Exhibition. The photo exhibition is jointly sponsored by the Provincial Science and Technology Association, the Publicity Department of the CPC Haibei Prefecture Committee, and the Qinghai Atomic City Memorial Hall. Through more than 100 precious historical pictures, it fully presents the entire process of the “two bombs and one satellite” cause from difficult decision-making to great success, allowing the public to draw strength from the patriotic dedication and unity and struggle spirit from the glorious history of the “two bombs and one satellite”.
May 30 this year is the ninth National Science and Technology Workers’ Day, with the theme of “Determined to Innovate and Develop to Build a Powerful Country in Science and Technology”. During the event, the whole province focused on the theme, worked together online and offline, and carefully organized activities such as exhibitions, drama performances, and concentrated publicity to promote the spirit of scientists, as well as national conditions training, academic exchanges, suggestions, and science and technology competitions to do practical things for science and technology workers. A series of activities to convey the care and concern of the Party and the government to science and technology workers. Symposiums on science and technology talents and joint actions on thematic popular science were also carried out during the event to further encourage science and technology workers to serve high-level science and technology self-reliance.
